A couple weeks ago, I got the amazing opportunity to attend the AgChat Foundation’s Agvocacy 2.0 conference in Nashville, TN. I got to meet so many people I “knew” through social media and now have some more great friendships. It was a little humid for this Montana girl, but I so enjoyed my time in “NashVegas” – the opportunity to visit the Ryman Auditorium, the Country Music Hall of Fame, and the Grand OleOpry, not to mention Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge and all the other great places on Broadway.
One of my new friends, Katie Pinke (Pinke Post is her blog), traded me some North Dakota honey for a Montana huckleberry brownie mix, with the stipulation that I use the honey in a blog post, like maybe in a recipe. Which is a great idea, but I got back to Montana on Wednesday evening, and the Eastern Montana Fair in Miles City started Thursday. With fair food around, who’s going to cook?! So I decided the honey bear should take in the fair, too.
On Thursday, I announced and clerked the 4-H horse show. The honey bear supervised my paperwork as we were getting started.
He was also most impressed with the beautiful ribbons we gave the kids rewarding their hard work.
And here he is, supervising me during the steer show on Friday.
It was so hot at our fair that the honey bear requested he stay home for the remainder of the weekend. Actually, I got lazy and quit hauling a honey bear around in my satchel!
I’m headed to New Mexico for my annual Labor Day vacation – stay tuned for future posts about my trip!
